The purpose for the Emergency Planning and Preparedness is to ensure the nursing staffing agency and home health providers follow an adequate planning for both natural and mad made disasters, and accordance with city, state, and national emergency preparedness system. Most states like Florida requires all healthcare providers such as Nursing Agency, Home Health Care, and Residential Healthcare Facilities to have an Emergency preparedness in to operate a business. Emergency Preparedness Certifications are issued by the governing body if the healthcare facilities met the requirements and in compliance with the Emergency Prepared Plan regulation to participate in the Medicaid and Medicare Program.

The policy and Procedure must contain emergency preparedness plan which must include training, exercises, evaluations, enviromental health preparedness and planning.
